Levy still considers Roberto Martinez an option for Spurs

With news emerging that Paulo Fonseca’s move to Tottenham is off, Daniel Levy is reportedly still keen on a move for current Belgian national team manger, Roberto Martinez.

That is according to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato, via Inside Futbol, who report that Levy favours Martinez’s extensive experience in English football.

Any potential move for him won’t be made until the end of Euro 2020.

Fonseca’s Tottenham move off with Gennaro Gattuso in line to be named head coach

Gennaro Gattuso could become the club's new head coach after a move for Fonseca fell through, football.london understands.

The 48-year-old was set to be named as Jose Mourinho's replacement after agreeing a deal with Spurs.

However, the situation changed on Thursday following Gattuso's exit from Fiorentina after only 23 days in Florence and the former Italy international is now in line to instead take over at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Gattuso was Fabio Paratici's preferred choice at Juventus prior to his exit last month but Spurs' new managing director of football has now made his move for the 43-year-old after a morning of change at Fiorentina.

Denmark issue fresh Christian Eriksen update after former Tottenham midfielder’s collapse

The Danish Football Association have provided an update on the current situation regarding midfielder Christian Eriksen, who collapsed during Denmark’s opening game at Euro 2020.

A statement released on social media on Thursday morning read: “National team doctor Morten Boesen has been in contact with the cardiac specialist at Rigshospitalet and Christian Eriksen and this is the latest status.

“After Christian has been through different heart examinations it has been decided that he should have an ICD (heart starter). This device is necessary after a cardiac attack due to rhythm disturbances.

“Christian has accepted the solution and the plan has moreover been confirmed by specialists nationally and internationally who all recommend the same treatment.”

They concluded by asking everyone to please respect Eriksen and his family at this difficult time.
