Roberto Martinez says he has never seen Romelu Lukaku as happy as he is following his transfer exit from Manchester United in the summer.
The Belgian international left United last month after two years at the club and has hit the ground running by scoring two goals in two matches with Inter Milan.
Lukaku started just 15 times since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took charge of the club and the Belgian forward no longer felt 'important' at United by the time he left the club.
The 26-year-old will be looking to rejuvenate his career playing in Italy, and national team manager Martinez admits he has already seen a massive change in Lukaku's demeanour.
"This is the first time I have seen him free and happy," Martinez admitted.
"Going back to many camps I have not seen Rom so focused, so happy, so refreshed by the new challenge."
Lukaku is not the only United player to have swapped Old Trafford the San Siro this summer, with Alexis Sanchez having joined the Italian side on-loan.
Speaking last week Lukaku praised the Chilean and spoke of his delight to be reunited with his former club teammate.
"A great addition for the squad," the Belgian told Sky Sports.
"I think you always want to play with the best players but what he is is a great man as well.
"For the dressing room that we have, we have a dressing room full of great men and full of players who are willing to work for the team and he's a great addition to it.
"Hopefully he can add that little spark to the team that we need, that the manager thinks that we need, and hopefully we can move on forward from there."
