Roberto Martinez aims dig at Man Utd and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer over Romelu Lukaku

Belgium boss Roberto Martinez says Romelu Lukaku is 'free and happy' after leaving Manchester United .

Lukaku left Old Trafford for Inter Milan in a £72m deal this summer after two years with the club.

He has enjoyed a strong start to life in Serie A, scoring in both of his appearances in wins over Cagliari and Lecce.

And Martinez, who managed the striker at Everton , believes the player has been revitalised by the move to Italy.

"This is the first time I have seen him free and happy," Martinez said ahead of Belgium's clash with Scotland.

"Going back to many camps I have not seen Rom so focused, so happy, so refreshed by the new challenge.

"I think he is now ready to face one of the biggest footballing chapters in his career with the Inter Milan move

"His life is football, he just lives to score goals and to be effective for the national team and at club level."

Lukaku is expected to return to the Belgium starting line-up for the clash with Scotland, after sitting out the success over San Marino.

And Martinez admits his side must be wary of a wounded Scottish side, following their defeat to Russia last time out.

"I expect a really tough game," Martinez said.

"I thought the first 15 minutes against Russia is the best I've seen Scotland for many years. From their intensity, the intent, the quality in the wide areas to be able to get a really good formation and get players in good positions.

"Then there is the emotional side. Sometimes you have something to lose and you start performing in a different manner. We have to be very, very careful."
