Roberto Firmino warned he is "under huge pressure" at Liverpool because of Diogo Jota

Roberto Firmino is under huge pressure now that Diogo Jota is firing on all cylinders.

That's according to Rio Ferdinand, who reckons the Brazilian striker may find opportunities harder to come by as a result of his Liverpool team-mate's form.

Jota started in the middle of Liverpool's front three against Atalanta on Tuesday night, in place of Firmino, who was named on the bench.

And the former Wolves star netted a hat-trick as Liverpool ran out 5-0 winners.

Manchester United legend Ferdinand was impressed with Jota's performance, and the way he has settled in so quickly at Anfield.

But he fears the striker's form could spell problems for Firmino.

"The forwards, you couldn't have asked for more. The recruitment team have done fantastically well, Klopp, bedding him [Jota] in the way he has," Ferdinand told BT Sport.

"And him showing his character and personality to really go in there and take it by storm amongst the front three who are looked around Europe as one of the best front threes.

"I'm sure Firmino will be sitting there compiling a little playback list to give to Klopp to remind him of what he's capable of doing.

"Firmino, like it or not, will want to start and this guy's putting him under huge pressure."
