Roberto Firmino shows off new tattoo - and Liverpool fans love it

Roberto Firmino has got Liverpool fans purring once again - but this time not for his ball skills, but for his bodily artwork.

The Brazilian forward showed off his latest inking during a club training session as he and his teammates prepare for the new season.

During the session, Firmino stripped off his shirt to reveal a new etching on his back of a Champions League trophy, to commemorate the Reds' win in Madrid on June 1.

Firmino was part of the side that helped Liverpool to a 2-0 victory in the final over Tottenham to seal the clubs sixth European Cup.

Liverpool's official Twitter account posted an image of Firmino with tattoo on show, along with the caption: "New season. New artwork. Love that, Bobby."

And fans of the Merseyside club were quick to praise the 27-year-old's taste on social media.

"Baller, what a man," one fan wrote, while another added: "Stunning work."

Others added videos of Firmino celebrating, whilst one supporter tempted fate and said: "He's not left himself much room for silverware!"

Firmino is not the first player to get himself a tattoo to remember the occasion, after Reds captain Jordan Henderson got a similar design on his thigh.

Other stars to have similar etchings are Sergio Ramos, Neymar and Wesley Sneijder, who have all also won the competition.

Firmino has only just returned to Liverpool for pre-season training on Monday, having been busy in Copa America action with Brazil for much of the summer.

He is unlikely to feature in the Reds' friendly with Lyon on Wednesday, with boss Jurgen Klopp also warning against a strong side being fielded in Sunday's Community Shield with Man City.

Firmino could well have reason to add to his collection sooner rather than later though if the Reds triumph in next month's Super Cup with Chelsea .

Here's what some of the Liverpool fans thought of his new tattoo...
