Roberto Firmino hands Liverpool injury boost ahead of Champions League final

Roberto Firmino has handed Liverpool an injury boost by stepping up his rehabilitation ahead of the Champions League final.

Firmino missed four of the final five games of the season after suffering an adductor problem during training last month.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has previously stated he was confident the Brazilian would be available for the clash with Tottenham Hotspur in Madrid on June 1.

And now the Liverpool forward has shared a series of images taken while on holiday of himself being put through his paces in a quest to prove his fitness for the showpiece occasion.

Firmino posted photos of himself training with Liverpool's strength and rehabilitation assistant David Rydings, and also tagged in German physio Sven Kampmann in one of his photos.

The Brazilian was absent as the Reds reached the Champions League final with a remarkable comeback against Barcelona, overturning a 3-0 first-leg deficit to win 4-0 at Anfield in the return.

It was the first European game under Klopp in which Firmino had failed to feature.
