Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah injury latest as Liverpool train ahead of Barcelona clash

Roberto Firmino looks set to play in Liverpool’s Champions League clash with Barcelona.

The no.9 participated in Tuesday’s open training session at Melwood before Liverpool travel to Spain to face the Catalan giants.

Mohamed Salah also joined Firmino in training, putting to bed rumours he had picked up a knock this week.

The key reason Roberto Firmino must be passed fit for Liverpool vs Barcelona

Firmino has been in sublime form and works tirelessly for Jurgen Klopp’s side with consistently intelligent play to match.

The Brazilian's absence against Huddersfield Town last Friday prompted a minor meltdown among Reds supporters on social media amid rumours the player wouldn't be seen again this season.

Klopp was quick to shut down such chatter after Liverpool's 5-0 romp , insisting the forward had suffered a small tear in a small groin muscle and possessing such resilience that an appearance at Camp Nou looked more than likely.

However, with him attending training today - only one day before Liverpool are set to play Barcelona - doubt over his availability has been swept aside.

Firmino has been the one constant throughout Klopp's reign, a cog in the Reds engine so unique he is, in most respects, almost irreplaceable so the fact he has participated in training today will be a great relief to the German boss and Reds supporters.
