Roberto Carlos sends message to Luke Shaw as he makes complaint after receiving shirt

Luke Shaw picked up where he left off for Manchester United after a summer of stellar displays for England at Euro 2020, impressing yet again in United's rampant 5-1 opening day victory over Leeds.

The left-back enjoyed his best season in a United shirt last term, establishing himself as one of the best full-backs in the Premier League after years of struggling to find his best form at Old Trafford.

Shaw's form has hit such staggering heights, he was actually the most selected player in the entire league for Fantasy Premier League players ahead of match-week one, ahead of some of the divisions biggest names.

The defender has acquired many admirers with his form over the last 12 months, but perhaps none more high-profile than former Real Madrid and Brazil full-back Roberto Carlos.

Carlos, who knows better than most what it takes to become one of the best left-backs in the world, has publicly praised Shaw on a number of occasions.

When asked about what he thought of Shaw's nickname "Shawberto Carlos", given to him by his England teammates at Euro 2020, Carlos responded : "He was the best player in the tournament. He has to keep it up; he has to continue playing like that. That’s important."

As recently as this weekend, Carlos has reached out to Shaw on Instagram to once again heap praise on the defender in the aftermath of United's opening day win over fierce rivals Leeds.

Shaw updated his fans with a post following the game that displayed the full-back with his teammates celebrating one of their five goals, accompanied with the caption: "What a atmosphere at OT!! The start we wanted" before tagging Manchester United's official account.

While the comment section was littered with praise from thousands of adoring fans, Carlos had left Shaw a message that read: "Congratulations on the victory and thank you very much for the shirt, only the signature was missing but that's ok, next time" followed by a number of laughing and clapping emojis.

The pair have clearly struck up quite the relationship given Shaw has sent the Brazilian a United shirt to keep, regardless of whether a signature featured or not.
