Robert Woods wins NFC Offensive Player of the Week for first time

While we don’t know the official voting process for Player of the Week awards, it’s likely that the decision in the NFC for the top offensive player of Week 11 came down to a coin flip between two Rams.

Robert Woods and Cooper Kupp both eclipsed 10 catches and 130 yards against the Buccaneers, but the decision-makers gave the nod to Woods for his performance on Monday night. He’s been named NFC Offensive Player of the Week after catching 12 passes for 130 yards and a touchdown in the Rams’ 27-24 win.

Kupp had more yards (145) on fewer targets (13 compared to 15), but he did have one fewer reception and didn’t score a touchdown – which was likely the deciding factor. The NFL couldn’t have gone wrong with either player as its pick this week, and Kupp will obviously be thrilled for his fellow wideout.

On Monday night, Woods and Kupp became the first pair of Rams teammates to ever catch 10 passes each in the same game.

This is the first time Woods has ever won Offensive Player of the Week despite consistently putting up solid numbers for the Rams in the last three-plus seasons. Even more impressively, Woods is the first Rams receiver to win the award since Isaac Bruce in 2002.

Woods is also the fifth Rams player to win a weekly award this year, joining Leonard Floyd, Aaron Donald, Johnny Hekker and Micah Kiser.
