Robert Woods says Reggie Bush deserves a statue at USC

After 10 years of disassociation, USC finally welcomed back Reggie Bush, lifting his ban from the university and the football program. The ban originally stemmed from Bush taking gifts from sports marketers, which caused him to forfeit his Heisman Trophy.

Fellow USC alum Robert Woods was thrilled to see the Trojans lift their ban on Bush, reacting to the news on a conference call with reporters Wednesday. He went a step further and said Bush deserves a statue at USC, too.

Bush’s dominance on the field led a lot of players to pick USC out of high school, acting as a silent recruiter because of how electric he was during his heyday.

Woods didn’t cross paths with Bush at USC, playing for the Trojans from 2010-2012 – which was after Bush’s tenure from 2003-2005. Bush’s final year at USC included 1,740 rushing yards, 16 touchdowns and another 478 yards receiving as he won the 2005 Heisman.

Woods wasn’t quite as good during his time at USC, but he still had 2,930 receiving yards and 32 touchdown catches in three seasons, landing in the NFL as a second-round pick by the Bills in 2013.
