Robert Snodgrass Celtic transfer clue as West Ham man enjoys Leigh Griffiths' late heroics

Robert Snodgrass has praised Leigh Griffiths for his late strike against St Johnstone this afternoon.

The Celtic forward climbed off the bench to fire his side ahead in the 90th minute with a crucial header, before Patryk Klimala doubled the visitor's lead to seal a dramatic 2-0 win in Perth.

And one person who seemed to enjoy his late heroics was die-hard Hoops fan and recent signing target Snodgrass.

The Daily Record claimed Celtic made an approach to West Ham over a loan deal for Snodgrass on Saturday night.

And the speculation has only intensified as he sent Griffiths a message of support after his winning strike against the Saints.

Griffiths said on Instagram: "Heeds we win. Big three points. Delighted to back on the pitch and help the team."

Snodgrass then replied to the post with two clapping hands emojis.

Neil Lennon refused to be drawn on any speculation over a move for Snodgrass when he was asked about the reports after Celtic's win at McDiarmid Park.

He told Sky Sports: "You can throw names at me all you like, you're not going to get a straight answer.

"I think either way, obviously we want to keep everybody but we do want to get a couple of players in if we can."

"I'm sure I'll be with Peter tomorrow, and Nick Hammond, and we'll see things.

"You saw the squad today, it's strong, and with the Europa League we've got all that to look forward to as well.

"If we could just add one more that would be great."
