Robert Pires makes big Emery prediction as Arsenal battle Man United & Chelsea for the top four

It is starting to look very promising for Arsenal ahead of the crucial run-in following a very good run of form of late.

While not that long ago it looked as if the team would miss out on a top-four finish for the third successive season, the Gunners are now in fourth and one point behind Spurs with eight games of the season remaining.

Unai Emery's team also have a very kind end to the season as they don't have to play any of the top six sides between now and May.

Arsenal will also be competing for the Europa League trophy after missing out on the final last year after defeat against Atletico Madrid in the semi-finals.

A quarter-final clash against Napoli will be extremely tough but the club do have Emery at the helm who produced an incredible feat by winning the trophy three years on the spin with Sevilla.

Former Arsenal star Robert Pires has hailed the job the Spaniard has done since taking over last May and believes he could deliver a top-four finish and European glory in his first year in north London.

"I think Unai Emery is a good manager, he’s won some titles with Sevilla, with Paris Saint-Germain,’ the Frenchman told ESPN, as reported by The Mirror .

"For the end of the season, he has two targets: to reach the top four and – why not – to win the Europa League competition.

"That’s why Arsenal are in a very good way and that’s why I’m very confident and very positive always when I talk about Arsenal.

"I think they can reach both targets. Of course it will be very difficult, but the squad is very good, we have good quality.

"All the players now they are very confident, especially Mesut Ozil – because he is one of the best players in the Premier League.

"So that’s why Unai Emery, the squad, they are very confident for the two targets: the top four and why not lift the [Europa League] trophy."
