Robert Pattinson’s Batman stunt double working ‘round the clock’ as he quarantines

Robert Pattinson’s stunt double is said to be working “round the clock” on The Batman set after the star tested positive for coronaviru.

Filming for Rob’s new role on The Batman, in which he plays the titular superhero, was feared to be halted only days after it resumed following the actor’s diagnosis.

The film crew had only recently started work again at the Leavesden studio, just outside of London after the set was forced to close due to the global pandemic.

Warner Bros had initially said that filming had been paused once again, but now reports say the Hollywood star’s stunt double is working “around the clock” while Rob spends 14 day in isolation.

A production insider told MailOnline : "Production staff are working round the clock to get things moving and allow some filming to take place.

"Anything that can be shot and does not involve Pattinson will now go ahead.

"That includes scenes with his body double.

“The aim is to get as much done as possible before he returns and the hope is that none of the other actors get the virus."

Reports say every effort is being made by the 130-strong production crew to keep the £100million blockbuster on track.

While Warner Bros would not comment on any individual's health when approached by the publication, the company shared a statement which read: "A member of The Batman production has tested positive for Covid-19, and is isolating in accordance with established protocols.

"Filming is temporarily paused."

Rocketing to household name-status as the brooding vampire Edward Cullen in the Twilight film series, actor Robert boasts an esteemed career.

His role as Bruce Wayne and his nightcrawling, crime-fighting alter ego marks a return to bigger, Blockbuster style films after a string of artier, smaller scale flicks.

The Batman also stars Andy Serkis as Bruce's butler Alfred, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Colin Farell as notorious gangster The Penguin, and Paul Dano as the question mark-obsessed Riddler.

Robert began filming the blockbuster with director Matt Reeves at the start of 2020 but the set had to be closed in March due to the pandemic.

The film is set to be released on October 1, 2021.
