Robert Mueller will likely not testify before House Judiciary next week

House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.) told reporters on Friday that it is unlikely special counsel Robert Mueller will testify before the committee next week.

Details: "We will subpoena him if we have to," Nadler said on Friday. "But we're negotiating with him. We're talking to him and the Justice Department ... I certainly hope it doesn't come to the, to our necessity to subpoena him," he added.


The bottom line: May 15 was the committee's target date for Mueller to testify. Nadler said Mueller could appear shortly after that date.
