Robert Griffin III weighs in on Andrew Luck’s retirement

Andrew Luck announced his retirement from the NFL on Saturday night, and droves of supporters came out to give their love to the 29-year-old — including the player drafted directly behind him, Robert Griffin III.

Now with the Baltimore Ravens as the backup to Lamar Jackson, Griffin was once part of a hot debate about which player was more deserving of being the No. 1 overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft.

Griffin, who also has seen a promising career derailed by injuries, gave his support to Luck via Twitter on Saturday night.

The entire NFL community — fans, coaches, analysts and players — have voiced their support for Luck with kind words and well wishes.

Luck’s decision was certainly a shock. But it was apparent he is dealing with a heavy mental toll from the injuries he has suffered throughout his career.

If anyone knows how difficult that is to deal with, it is Griffin.
