Former Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Green insists that Jorginho and not Ross Barkley should have taken the missed penalty against Valencia which ended up costing the Blues.
Rodrigo gave Valencia a second-half lead but Chelsea could have salvaged a point late on when Daniel Wass was penalised for a handball.
Ross Barkley was quick to pick up the ball and claim the penalty despite the fact that he didn't originally start the contest.
Green, who was on Chelsea's books last season and feels Jorginho is the best penalty taker at the club, believes there would have been confusion over why Barkley was taking the spot-kick considering he did not start the game.
"Ross was a sub. Unless you have a designated penalty taker like Harry Kane, who comes off the bench and everyone knows he's taken penalties, then it's down to the designated penalty taker at the start of the game in my opinion," Green told BBC Radio 5 Live.
"When you have got someone such as Jorginho, who is so good at taking penalties, it seems strange to take it away from him.
"Ross was fairly insistent. He had taken three this season so far, two in pre-season and one in the Super Cup and scored all three.
"So he is confident enough and backed himself, but if that would have happened in the fifth minute Jorginho would have taken it.
"You saw the look on Jorginho's face.

"If you are stepping up to take it you should be able to deal with the pressure.
"To miss the target as such is a cardinal sin.
"As a goalkeeper you hate to face Jorginho, I've done it many times in training. He just waits for you to go so. As soon as he steps away from it, you feel a bit better there as a keeper."
Manager Frank Lampard, however, has insisted that Barkley is the designated taker, though he did suggest that the decision will be revisited.
