Robert Downey Jr., Kate Hudson to be among Golden Globes presenters

Jan. 05--Robert Downey Jr., Salma Hayek, Kevin Hart and Kate Hudson have been tapped as presenters at the 72nd Golden Globe Awards on Sunday.

The Hollywood Foreign Press Assn. on Monday is expected to announce those presenters and others for the ceremony, which will be held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills and broadcast on NBC.

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will be co-hosts for the third -- and final, they have said -- time.

Last year they led the Golden Globes to their highest ratings in 10 years, with 20.9 million total viewers, according to Nielsen. This year the winners may help to narrow a field of top Oscar contenders that includes the films "Birdman," "Boyhood," "The Theory of Everything," "The Imitation Game" and "Selma."

Presenters for key categories at the Oscars are traditionally introduced by the previous year's winners, but the presenters lineup for the Globes can be more freewheeling and unexpected -- much like the awards themselves. The early list of presenters includes actors who are no strangers to award shows.

Downey won the Golden Globe for performance by an actor in a motion picture comedy or musical in 2010 for his role in "Sherlock Holmes." He costarred in "The Judge" alongside Robert Duvall, nominated this year for supporting actor.

Hudson, in Zach Braff's 2014 comedy-drama "Wish I Was Here," took home a Golden Globe for 2000's "Almost Famous."

Hayek was nominated for lead actress for "Frida" (2002). She and Hudson were presenters in 2013.
