Robert De Niro and Julianne Moore are reportedly working on a new TV crime series with the director of American Hustle and Silver Linings Playbook, David O Russell.

Russell has previously worked with De Niro on Joy and Silver Linings Playbook, both of which also starred Jennifer Laurence.

Deadline Hollywood reported that the show, which is thought to be set in the 90s, is being pitched to US cable channels and streaming services.

Russell was nominated for best director Oscars for The Fighter, American Hustle and Silver Linings Playbook. He also won best screenplay Baftas for Silver Linings Playbook and American Hustle.

In 2014 Russell co-wrote a TV series set in a private country club, ABC’s The Club, but left the project without explanation.

Though better known for their film appearances, both Moore and De Niro and have appeared as guest stars on comedy 30 Rock.
