Robert Carlyle appeared on This Morning earlier today and may have given away some hints about the new series which follow's his Trainspotting character Begbie on life, 25 years on from the original film being released.
And while he spoke to Alison Hammond and Dermott O'Leary about his his appearance in ‘COBRA: Cyberwar’, they couldn't help but ask about the follow up series which has been rumoured for a while.
The series will be based on Irvine Welsh's 2016 book The Blade Artist and will follow Begbie's life after the Trainspotting days.
Alison said: "We've got to talk about Trainspotting haven't we? Benji, is it true that he might be returning?"
And while we know Alison meant to say Begbie, Robert, in true gentlemanly fashion, didn't correct her and just carried on with the interview.
He said: "Yes! Well there is a book called The Blade Artist and that really is Begbie's story after the Trainspotting bit is over.
"When you pick up the book, he's living in California, he's married his therapist from prison and he's got a life over there now. And he's become some sort of celeb because he's learnt to sculpt in prison.
"And his form of sculpture is with a knife and clay so he slashes away at clay and he does likenesses of like Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie or whoever and of course the celebs of the day are buying this stuff."
Dermott adds: "It must be incredible to have a relationship with that character?"
Robert smiles: "The thing is with this, does a leopard ever change his spots? He gets a phone call from Edinburgh that his son has been murdered so he goes back and when he does he just spirals into nastiness!

But for now, he will be back on our screens playing the British Prime Minister in Sky’s hit drama ‘COBRA: Cyberwar’.
