Roberson to continue rehab in Los Angeles

Andre Roberson’s return to action this season is looking less and less likely.

According to Erik Horne of The Athletic, a team spokesperson announced on Tuesday that Roberson will continue rehabbing his left knee away from the team in Los Angeles.

A timetable for his return is still not available.

Roberson’s road back to the NBA has been highly anticipated and heavily chronicled since he tore his left patellar tendon during a game in January of 2018.

Roberson has not played in a game since then and is coming up on two years away from competitive basketball.

Hopes were high in Oklahoma City coming into training camp when Billy Donovan said that Roberson had been cleared to participate.

However, the Thunder have been cautious in easing him back, and he has not played in a regular-season game after sitting out the entire preseason.

Tuesday’s development is the latest in a long line of indications that Roberson may still be a ways away from returning.

In November, Donovan was unable to say for certain whether or not Roberson would get back on the court sometime during the 2019-20 season, saying only, “I hope so, for him”.
