Robby Anderson had hilarious reaction to Joe Douglas’ post-deadline phone call

There was no shortage of Jets rumored to be available in the final hours of the NFL trade deadline on Tuesday. Wide receiver Robby Anderson, for example, drew multiple suitors to Joe Douglas.

Alas, no one was dealt on deadline day, but there was plenty of talk. While Jamal Adams wasn’t particularly fond of how the front office handled the deadline, others, like Anderson are simply happy to still be a Jet.

New York’s speedster wasn’t shy to voice his uncertainty, though. Relieved to remain with the team, he revealed that he had a rather funny reaction when Douglas called him after the deadline to talk things out.

“When Joe called me I was like, ‘Man did they extend the trade deadline or something?'” Anderson said. “I got nervous for a second. I ain’t gonna lie.”

Douglas might have created a slight scare for Anderson, but now it is business as usual. The Jets and Anderson return to action Sunday, as they will take on the AFC East rival Dolphins.
