May the fastest man win in the million-dollar 40-yard dash tournament.
The quickest NFL players will be gathering this weekend to determine who has the best 40-yard dash time in the league. The winner of the event will win a million dollars, while all participants will receive some compensation as well. The tournament will be hosted by Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson, Chris Johnson and DJ Irie.
The Jets will have one participant in this year’s tournament, wide receiver Robby Anderson. His first-round matchup will be none other than Saints running back Alvin Kamara.
Anderson might actually be the favorite in his first matchup with Kamara. Based on both players’ 40 times at the scouting combine, Anderson has the edge. Anderson ran a 4.34 second 40-yard dash, while Kamara slugged out a 4.56 second time.
The Jets wideout has proved that he’s one of the league’s best vertical receivers. He can blow past his defenders in a straight line with his electric speed and he showcased that this past season with 752 receiving yards and six touchdowns.
But in this tournament, stats don’t matter. It’s just straight speed and it will be interesting to see if Kamara can improve upon his time from the combine, while Anderson will look to hold him off.
