Robbie Williams reflects on yo-yo diet from starving on air to being overweight

Robbie Williams looked back on his weight struggles in the limelight.

Now the songwriter has never looked better since he overhauled his fast-paced celebrity lifestyle and diet more than a year ago.

But the singer has struggled with his weight throughout his high-flying musical career.

During his time in the spotlight, the Let Me Entertain You rocker has yo-yo dieted from one extreme to another - starving one year to being "unhappy overweight".

In a piece to camera uploaded on Twitter, Robbie admitted he once starved himself so much he was mostly living off "fresh air and sometimes mango".

Starvation left the Feel hitmaker feeling "so emotional and depressed".

Equally, the singer expressed he was deeply "unhappy" when he was overweight as both extreme weights sent him spiralling into depression.

He said: "Basically lived on fresh air and some mango. I was so emotional and depressed and I had all these feelings. My body was starving.

"I've been overweight and unhappy or been extreme and underweight and unhappy. Both of those places have led to depression.

"Consistency is the best I've been for a long time."

Robbie credited his healthy figure to the Weight Watchers diet.

The singer recognised his new consistent diet has had a positive impact physically and mentally in the past year.

In the caption, he added: "This really is the best I’ve felt in such a long time.

"By staying consistent with the programme on @ww_uk for over a year now, I’ve really noticed the positive impact it’s had not just physically, but mentally as well."
