Robbie Savage makes bold predictions for Arsenal and Tottenham ahead of Premier League season

With just a week to go until the new Premier League season, it's that time of the year when pundits submit their predictions for the new campaign.

Former player turned pundit Robbie Savage has now locked his in, and Arsenal may be pretty pleased if they turn out to be correct, though the same can't be said for Tottenham.

The Gunners are being tipped to finish fifth this season, behind Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea and Man City, who are being predicted to finish in that order.

Savage reasoned in his Mirror column: "Mikel Arteta has done unbelievably well to win the FA Cup and toughen up the Gunners' soft centre since he took over from Unai Emery.

"Arsenal have already beaten Liverpool, City and Chelsea on his watch, and if they get off to a good start, they could finish in the top four... although I think it's too soon to talk about a title challenge."

Tottenham, meanwhile, are being tipped to endure a disappointing campaign, Savage predicting Jose Mourinho's men will finish seventh, one place lower than last term.

"If they are as entertaining as the All Or Nothing documentary, Spurs will be worth watching. But the meter is ticking over to 13 years without a trophy and they should prioritise the cups," Savage said.

"Jose Mourinho did well to finish second with Manchester United in 2017 and it would be even more remarkable if he did it again with Spurs this season."

Elsewhere, Savage predicted Wolves to finish sixth, while Aston Villa, Fulham and West Brom will be relegated, according to the Welshman.
