Robbie Savage has blasted Chris Sutton for "boring the Scottish nation" in a jokey rebuke on social media.
The outspoken Welsh pundit also took Ally McCoist to task for snubbing the opportunity to take him to Rangers eight years ago.
Savage had offered to play for the Ibrox club for free as they made their journey back through the divisions of Scottish football.
In the hilarious video posted on his Twitter feed and hosted by Darrell Currie, Savage also told Sutton that his punditry colleague McCoist gets the better of him in their sparky debates every week.
Sutton and Savage's verbal sparring has long been a staple feature of BT's coverage of games south of the border and it's safe to say it shows no sign of letting up.
He said "Ally, first and foremost, 45-years old and in the shape of my life. You could have had this for free eight years ago but your loss is Strictly Come Dancing's gain.
"As for you Sutton, stop boring the Scottish nation with 'Rangers this and Rangers that. Steven Gerrard this and must do better that. Bore off and talk about the other side in Scotland.
"And ... Ally has got you on toast every week."
Never one to allow a rival to have the last word, Record Sport columnist Sutton later took to Twitter to give his trademark acerbic retort.
Quote tweeting his rival's post, he said: "Nobody likes you in Scotland Rob or anywhere when you think about it ..."
McCoist and Sutton will appear alongside Michael Stewart and Stephen Craigan on Scottish Football Extra tonight at 6:30pm.
