Robbie Neilson in furious Hearts rant as Lewis Ferguson accused of 'blatant cheating' for Aberdeen penalty

Furious Robbie Neilson slammed Aberdeen star Lewis Ferguson for his "blatant cheating" to win a penalty against Hearts.

The Gorgie side ran out comfortable 2-0 winners against the Dons with defenders John Souttar and Stephen Kingsley getting on the scoresheet.

But there were nerves inside Tynecastle when Cammy Devlin was pulled up for fouling Ferguson in the area.

Scotland keeper Craig Gordon stepped up to save however and Neilson believed justice was done.

Speaking on BBC Sportsound, he asked his interviewer: "What did you think? What did you think at the time?"

An awkward to-and-fro fellowed before the reporter admitted the Dons midfielder went down a little too easy.

"Aye," continued Neilson. "After seeing it again, it's easier than easy and that's the disappointing thing.

"And I'm pretty sure that will get looked at because it's not acceptable in the game.

"It (the save) is just justice. Aberdeen created nothing in the game apart from somebody diving like that to try and get the penalty.

"Thankfully it didn't cost us because if they get that goal from the penalty it totally changes the dynamic of the game and they could go and get something out of the game after blatant cheating.

"I don't blame the referee, I blame the player for doing it."
