Robbie Neilson fumes at SFA snub as Hearts boss fires 'not in Glasgow' barb at Crawford Allan

Raging Robbie Neilson has slammed referees chief Crawford Allan for giving his verdict on Kyogo’s controversial winner in a radio interview just 24 hours after the SFA BLANKED him.

And the Hearts gaffer revealed how he was told Allan wasn’t available to speak to him - because he was on holiday.

But Allan spoke to BBC Radio Scotland’s Sportsound afternoon show to discuss the fall out from Kyogo’ s goal against the Jambos at Parkhead.

Allan confessed it was “probably” offside and revealed he had also spoken to whistler Bobby Madden about an error he made with a drop ball situation.

But while Allan was happy to go live on air to talk to the national - Jambos gaffer Neilson wasn’t afforded the same time for an explanation.

Neilson was furious after the match and the Allan angered him further as he spoke to BBC Scotland ahead of his team’s clash against Livingston.

He said of hearing the interview: “I was surprised because I tried to get in contact with Crawford on Friday morning and was told he hadn’t seen the game and wouldn’t be available until Friday the 10th due to annual leave.

“So I took that to be and then I heard him on the radio explaining it, having watched the game and (having) spoken to the referee so that was pretty disappointing.

“I would have liked a wee bit of clarification before I listened to the radio and from what I took from it he kind of backed up what we thought after the game.

“I tried a couple of times to speak to the SFA. I might get something next week. We’ll wait and see.

“It would have been nice as the coach or manager of the team that’s involved to get some clarification.

“But it wasn’t to be. It’s Scottish football and we’re not in Glasgow.

“Crawford said he was ‘probably’ offside and if he’s saying probably then it is. I can’t see why the mistake was made. He was offside the whole move and didn’t come back onside at all.”

The incident has increased calls for VAR and Neilson said: “I would welcome VAR anyway. We have to move forward and get big decisions right in big games and to keep up with the rest of Europe.

“We have teams going into European competitions and dealing with VAR for the first time so we need to keep up.”
