She told the Irish Mirror: “I was 18 when I met Rob, I’ve just turned 36, It’s funny people use the word romance.

“We’re married for 12 years, together for years, it’s the simple things that keep us close.

“We had a little break in Adare Manor, just the two of us for a couple of days.

“We ended up doing loads of activities. People say romantic, Rob had me on bikes, clay pigeon shooting, the arms were falling off me by the end of it.

“It was a bit of fun but we had a nice few days, it was the first time in two years that I’d been away from the kids.”

With more time on their hands during lockdown the couple gave back to help those on the frontline.

She said: “We raised €82,000 for the hospitals, they did a garden for the hospital staff as they couldn’t eat anymore in their canteens.

“It was for Our Hospital Heroes and the hospitals still need funds. It’s not over for them, they still face the same issues.”
