Robbie Keane's return to training means Galaxy are getting better

April 26--The wounded Galaxy, who have lost 10 starters to injury or suspension this season, continued to get better Tuesday with captain Robbie Keane participating in full training just a month after arthroscopic knee surgery.

Midfielder Sebastian Lletget, who sat out last Saturday's win over Real Salt Lake with a groin injury, participated in Tuesday's practice as well, but mostly on the side. Forward Alan Gordon, who also missed Saturday's game with an undisclosed injury, did not train Tuesday.

Also on Tuesday, rookie Emmanuel Boateng, who took Lletget's spot in the lineup, was voted Major League Soccer's player of the week after scoring his first MLS goal and contributing a pair of assists in a 5-1 win over Real Salt Lake. The Galaxy's Giovani dos Santos won the award last week after scoring twice in a win over Houston.

With midfielder Jeff Larentowicz making his Galaxy debut off the bench against Real Salt Lake, and Leonardo, last season's defender of the year, nearing 100% fitness, the Galaxy are healthier then they have been since the season opener. And that could pose a enviable problem for Coach Bruce Arena.

After getting midfielders Dos Santos and Steven Gerrard back from injury in the last two weeks, Arena will have some tough lineup decisions to make when Lletget and Keane return from injury and midfielder Nigel de Jong returns from suspension next week.

"The scary thing about this team is we've still got Robbie Keane coming. We haven't had Nigel," said Gerrard, who scored his first goal of the year against Salt Lake. "So the manager's going to have a headache in a few week's time. And we're going to be even stronger."

The Galaxy (4-1-2) travel to Kansas City on Sunday to meet Sporting Kansas City (4-4-0).
