Robbie Gotts details what he will get out of Lincoln City loan spell

Robbie Gotts says his mind was made up to join Lincoln City on loan from Leeds United as soon as he heard about the interest from the Imps.

The 20-year-old midfielder has moved from the Whites on a season-long loan to League One high-fliers Lincoln but there was plenty of interest for his signature.

A number of EFL clubs were linked to Gotts but, speaking to Lincoln's website, he said he was keen on a move to Sincil Bank as soon as the interest became clear.

He said: "I'm really happy to be here at Lincoln, whenever I got the interest for coming here I was all for it.

"It's come round quite quickly but as soon as I did hear interest I was really keen to get the deal done.

"It was a bit of a stressful night last night but good to get the deal done."

He added: "I've heard nothing but good things about the manager and I know they've got a few good young lads in as well.

"You can't go wrong with young lads that all want the same thing.

"Hopefully the aim is to get as many games as I can."

Gotts' versatility was praised by Lincoln boss Michael Appleton after the signing was announced, and the youngster is keen to inject some energy into the Imps side.

He said: "For me, I'd say I bring good energy to the team.

"I like to play right-back and centre-midfield is probably my preferred position.

"I like to bring a lot of energy and get forward but I also do the dirty work and get back. Hopefully I'll maybe get a few goals if I can."

He added: "I know you've got to work hard to get into the team, you can't just expect to walk into it.

"I'll work hard for that place and to get regular game time."

Gotts has only ever known life at Leeds United and says he is keen to experience a different environment.

"It just excites me, to be honest," he said.

"The time is right to do it, I feel like I want to experience it.

"I feel it will be good for me on and off the pitch, just living on my own - I've not experienced that, I've just been comforted a bit.

"So I'm really happy to get going."
