Robbie Fowler appeared on Good Morning Britain today and said it was "disgraceful" no-one had been held accountable for the unlawful killing of 96 people at the Hillsborough disaster.
Former police chief David Duckenfield was on Thursday cleared of gross negligence manslaughter following the deaths of 96 Liverpool supporters unlawfully killed in the tragedy.
Duckenfield had been match commander at the FA Cup semi-final in Sheffield in April 1989.
The verdict, reached after a seven-week trial at Preston Crown Court, means no-one will ever be held criminally responsible for the deaths of the innocent men, women and children.
Today Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler spoke to Piers and Susanna about the recent developments.
He said: "I think it's disgraceful, it's an unlawful killing and someone should be held accountable.
"Someone must be to blame, the way it's been swept under the carpet is frightening, I think it was the wrong decision.
"I think it's been totally dealt with the wrong way.
"The family and friends of the 96 wanted answers and we haven't had the answers we wanted."
Piers agreed with Robbie's sentiments and said: "It seems completely scandalous to me."
Robbie then spoke about Liverpool's chances of winning the Premier League this year and agreed with Piers it might be Liverpool's year.
He said: "I think Liverpool are the best team in Premier League at the minute, so we could do it."
