Robbie Burton has spoken out after leaving Arsenal for Dinamo Zagreb.
It was confirmed on the club's official website on Tuesday afternoon that the 20-year-old has joined the Croatian outfit on a permanent transfer.
A statement reads: "Robbie Burton has joined Croatian side Dinamo Zagreb on a permanent transfer.
"The 20-year-old midfielder joined the club when he was just six years old and developed through the ranks at the Arsenal Academy.
"The graduate secured his first professional contract in August 2018 and has since made 25 appearances for our under-23s, scoring five times. This season Robbie also wore the captain’s armband for eight of his appearances.
"Robbie’s hard work was recognised last summer when he joined the first team on their pre-season tour of the United States, where he made his first-team debut, playing a full 90 minutes against the Colorado Rapids and coming off the bench in our win over Bayern Munich in the International Champions Cup.
"Robbie also appeared in the first-team squad for our Carabao Cup fixture against Nottingham Forest in September.
"The Wales youth international has featured for his country up to under-21 level.
"Everyone at the club wishes Robbie the best of luck for his future."
And shortly after the transfer was confirmed, Burton took to social media to share an heartfelt message.
"I would like to say thank you to everyone at Arsenal who have helped me and made me the player I am today," he wrote on Twitter. "To leave a club that means so much to me is hard but the right decision for my career.
"I wish the club all the best in the future."
Football.london understands that the Gunners could eventually earn £800,000 from the sale of the 20-year-old.
Burton has the chance to fill the void created by Dani Olmo who joined RB Leipzig in the January transfer window.
Furthermore, the Wales Under-21 international will become the first British player at the Maksimir Stadium.
