Robbie Brady staying with Burnley as club trigger contract extension

Burnley have extended Robbie Brady's contract until the end of the 2020/21 season.

With Brady coming to the end of his deal this summer, the club triggered an option to keep the Ireland star, 28, on their books for a further 12 months.

Brady has battled injuries since joining the Turf Moor side from Norwich in 2017.

The Dubliner has notched 63 appearances for the club and had featured in 14 games this season before the Covid-19 pandemic led to football being suspended.

Ireland midfielder Jeff Hendrick's contract is due to expire at the end of June.

But the Premier League has ruled that players with expiring deals. will have the opportunity to secure extensions until the end of the 2019/20 season.

Burnley were among the top flight teams that returned to training this week, with the Premier League working on a plan to resume action and finish the season next month.
