Robbie Brady endures tough night as Burnley draw with Fulham at Turf Moor

Robbie Brady had a night to forget at Turf Moor.

The Republic of Ireland winger came off the bench late in the first-half of Burnley's 1-1 draw with Fulham. But he was quickly booked, fluffed a clearance off the line for Fulham's equaliser and was lucky not to see red.

Then to compound his misery, he was hauled off 24 minutes after his introduction. Burnley boss Sean Dyche later claimed the Ireland midfielder had aggravated an injury.

"We've had to take Robbie off. He's been carrying a little bit of an achilles and we noticed he wasn't running right," said Dyche who may have been shielding his player.

Brady’s contract expires this summer and outgoing Scottish champions Celtic are known to be keen.

Ahead of the game, Dyche had said: “The talks with all players are ongoing, no matter what level of contract they’ve got.

"As soon as they’re a little bit into their contract we always keep tabs with their agents and the players to let them know.

"So that one will work itself out.”

The Clarets boss added: "It’s not always hard work, it’s just simple conversations that are open and then try and get the right outcome.

"We try and do what we can to make sure they’re happy and feel settled at the club and ready to play for the club."

Brady, 29, joined Burnley from Norwich City in 2017 and was at Hull City and Manchester United before that.

His time with the Clarets has been laced with injury problems and has made 19 appearances this season.
