Newcastle courthouse.

A MAN and woman accused of coordinating a shooting and robbery in Sydney's south west last month have been refused bail in Newcastle Local Court.

Daniel Tasman Gordon, 42, and Sarah Victoria Pickett-Kelly, 28, were arrested after police raided a house at Mayfield on Tuesday.

The pair appeared in court on Wednesday charged with shoot at with intent to murder, specially aggravated break and enter with intent, aggravated robbery with wounding, aggravated robbery in company and destroy or damage property.

Detectives allege the pair facilitated the shooting and robbery of a 38-year-old man at a granny flat on Huntingdale Avenue, Lansvale about 3.10am on February 13.

The 38-year-old man was treated by paramedics for a gunshot wound to the stomach before being taken to Liverpool Hospital, where he remains in a serious condition.

Police were told two men, with their faces covered and armed with a rifle, entered the granny flat and shot the man before stealing personal items including jewellery, cash, and a handbag.
