Police are warning residents on the South Side of three armed robberies reported in recent weeks in Back of the Yards.
In each incident, a suspect approached someone who was in a vehicle and demanded or took property from them at gunpoint or by force, according to an alert from Chicago police.
A robbery happened about 8:55 p.m. Dec. 20 in the 1200 block of West 49th Street, police said. Another occurred about 20 minutes later a few blocks away in the 4800 block of South Justine Street.
The third robbery took place at 12:30 a.m. Dec. 23 in the 1200 block of West 50th Street, police said.
The suspects were described as two to four males who were “young in age,” police said.
