Robbers beat, steal cash from people on NW Side

Police are warning about two robberies that happened in February and March in Cragin and Logan Square on the Northwest Side.

In both cases, two men approached someone on the sidewalk and beat or dragged them to the ground, Chicago police said. They got away with the victim’s cash.

The robberies happened:

  • About 2:10 a.m. Feb. 28 in the 2800 block of North Lamon Avenue and
  • About 2:13 a.m. March 18 in the 2100 block of North Hamlin Avenue.

One suspect is described as a 30- to 40-year-old man standing 5-foot-7 and weighing 180 pounds, police said. The other man is 30 to 32 years old, 5 feet tall and 160 pounds.

Anyone with information about the robberies is asked to contact Area North detectives at 312-744-8263.
