Robbers armed with carjack raid shop in Trim, Co Meath before filling car and fleeing with cash

Four men have been arrested following a robbery at a Co Meath store on Sunday night.

Gardai say two men armed with a carjack entered shop at around 7.15pm, before stealing cash, cigarettes and alcohol.

The suspects also filled their car with petrol and then fled the scene on the Navan Road, Trim.

That vehicle was later discovered outside a home in Navan.

And gardai arrested four men, all in their 30s, in the Co Meath area in a follow-up operation.

A spokesman said: "The males left the scene in this vehicle and Gardaí later located it at a residence in Navan, Co Meath.

"In a follow-up operation in the County Meath area, four men in their 30s were subsequently arrested. Two of the men are detained at Navan Garda Station while the other men are detained at Trim and Ashbourne Garda Stations.

"All four men are detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984. No injuries to persons were reported during this incident."
