Someone came up behind people and stole property before running off.

Police are warning Garfield Park residents to be aware of their surroundings following four robberies reported in May and June.

In each robbery, someone approached a person, demanded property and then took it by force before running away, according to a community alert from Chicago police.

The incidents occurred:

  • May 22 in the 3400 block of West Polk Street;
  • May 25 in the 3400 block of West Harrison Street;
  • June 6 in the 3400 block of West Lexington Street and
  • June 8 in the 700 block of South St. Louis Avenue.

All of the robberies happened at night or in the early morning hours, police said.

Anyone with information about these robberies is asked to call Area North detectives at 312-744-8263.
