Robberies reported in Back of the Yards: police

Chicago police are warning Back of the Yards residents about a series of recent robberies in the South Side neighborhood.

In each incident, a group of up to five men approached someone on the street and demanded their property or took it by force, Chicago police said.

The robberies happened about:

· 5:25 p.m. Sept. 12 in the 1800 block of West 50^th Street;

· 9:20 a.m. Sept. 21 in the 4800 block of South Marshfield Avenue; and

· 3:25 a.m. Sept. 28 in the 4700 block of South Ashland Avenue.
