Robberies reported in Albany Park: police

Police are warning residents on the Northwest Side of a pair of robberies reported in recent weeks in Albany Park.

In each case, the suspect grabbed a person’s belongings, shoved the person to the ground and ran off, Chicago police said in a community alert.

A robbery took place at 2:30 p.m. Oct. 22 in the 3300 block of West Lawrence Avenue, police said. Another happened at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 7 in the 4700 block of North Bernard Street.

The suspect was described as a male standing between 5-foot-7 and 5-foot-9, and weighing 130 to 140 pounds, police said. He was wearing a black jacket, hat and jeans.

In the robbery on Bernard Street, the suspect was wearing a ski mask, police said.
