Robber with striking appearance attacks pair in Easton after night out

A man with “bulbous eyes” robbed people walking home from a night out in Bristol last week, according to police.

Police say the offender attacked a man and a woman, both aged 27, on the cycle path in Easton late on Monday, January 6.

An Avon and Somerset Constabulary spokesperson said the attacker made off towards Whitehall Road with the man’s wallet, leaving the pair with facial injuries requiring ambulance attention.

The assault happened between 11.30pm and midnight, soon after the pedestrians entered the cycle path from Kilburn Street.

The spokesperson said: “Their attacker is described as about 5ft 11ins tall with broad shoulders.

“He was in his 20s or 30s, clean shaven with shaven or very short hair and ‘bulbous’ eyes.

“If you can help the police investigation get in touch through www.avonandsomerset.police.uk/contact or call 101, quoting reference 5220004296.

“Alternatively ring the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. They never ask your name or trace your call.”
