A man demanded a 14-year-old hand over his bike, threatening to stab him if he didn’t.
The incident happened on a Monday afternoon on September 8 on a train heading from Egham, Surrey, to Hounslow in west London.
The man boarded the train at Feltham station in west London. At 2.27pm he approached the teenager and after threatening to stab him, the boy gave the thief his bike.
He made the young man get off the train at the next stop, Hounslow, while he stayed on with the pushbike.
The British Transport Police has released a CCTV photo of a man who they believe might have more information that could assist their inquiry.
Anyone who recognises him is asked to contact BTP by texting 61016, or by calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 502 of 8 September.
Information can also be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
Bike thefts have soared in the capital. The BTP said it won’t investigate bikes that get nicked outside stations if they’re locked up for more than two hours.
