Robber threatened shop worker with knife then made off with three-figure sum of cash

Police are appealing for witnesses following a robbery at a shop on Lawhill Road in Carluke.

The incident happened shortly before 12.50pm on Sunday, April 12, when an unidentified man entered the shop and threatened a staff member with a knife.

The suspect stole a three-figure sum of cash before leaving the shop.

He was last seen heading in the direction of Station Road.

The man was described as being in his late teens, around 5ft 5ins and wearing dark clothing, including an item covering his face.

Detective Constable Scott Pollock from Wishaw CID said: “Fortunately nobody was injured but the female member of staff was naturally left extremely shaken by the experience.

“Our enquiries are now ongoing and I would urge anyone who may be able to help identify this individual, or who may have any more information, to come forward.

“Anyone who can help is asked to call 101, quoting incident 1565 of 12 April, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
