A man robbed a bank at a store on Rama III Road in Bangkok and made off with over 600,000 baht on Wednesday afternoon.
The man, wearing a white T-shirt, a light blue jacket and trousers, entered a branch of LH Bank at HomePro branch on Rama II Road in Bangkok at around 2.40pm on Wednesday, Thai media reported.
He threatened staff with a pistol before robbing the bank of about 500,000 baht, and fled on a motorcycle.
Phraya Krai police radioed officers to keep watch for the robber on possible escape routes. He remained at large at press time.
Pol Col Kritsana Pattanacharoen, deputy spokesman to the Royal Thai Police Office, said the armed robber handed a note to a staffer at the counter and asked her to give him money, saying he did not want to hurt anyone.
