Rob Ryan speaks on Redskins job and defense’s talent

The Washington Redskins went out and got Rob Ryan to coach their inside linebackers next season.

Understandably, Ryan is excited to get started considering the wealth of talent on the defense:

“Really excited about going to get in that building with that much energy and passion, it’s going to be fun.”

Ryan also praised the Redskins’ young defensive core, as he should — Daron Payne, Jonathan Allen and others are a superb nucleus to build around. And from Ryan’s perspective, they’ll make the lives of his linebackers rather simple.

Outside of Ryan getting to work with one of the NFL’s better-looking overall units, he will have his work cut out for him when it comes to helping figure out who should start in the middle of the defense next season.

Odds are Ryan is already getting to work on that between interviews.
