Rob Ninkovich to join ESPN’s NFL coverage

Retired New England Patriots linebacker Rob Ninkovich will join ESPN’s broadcast team as an NFL analyst for the 2019 season, the network announced on Tuesday.

Ninkovich retired in July 2017 and spent time covering the Patriots with NBC Sports Boston and WBZ-TV in 2018. He will commence coverage on Saturday in a “SportsCenter” special at New England’s training camp.

“I am excited and grateful for the opportunity to work for ESPN,” Ninkovich said in an ESPN press release. “I look forward to sharing my knowledge of the game and expressing my passion for football in the next chapter of my professional career.”

He played for the Patriots, New Orleans Saints and Miami Dolphins during his 11-season career. Ninkovich, a two-time Super Bowl champion, played in 131 games with 475 tackles, 46 sacks, 12 forced fumbles and five interceptions.
