Rob Kearney hopes to bring 'winning mindset' to Western Force

Rob Kearney wants to hit the ground running by bringing a "winning mindset" to Western Force.

Kearney, 34, is a two-time Grand Slam winner with Ireland. He accumulated two more Six Nations titles and, with Leinster, he won four European Cups and six PRO14 titles.

Having spent 14 days in quarantine on arrival in Australia, the Louthman has just started training with his new club and wants to make an instant impact after signing on for a year Down Under.

"I'm very lucky that I've come from some teams and some cultures where we've won a lot of trophies and silverware," said Kearney, who will hope for involvement in Western Force's Super Rugby AU Opener against defending champions Brumbies on February 19.

"Hopefully, I can incorporate some of that winning mindset and what it takes to be a real high-performance team.

"I think I've lost a kilogram or two after the few weeks' quarantine. So I'll be asking the boys to stack on more weight!

"When you're forced to have to adapt, you can make sessions up pretty quickly and can surprise yourself with how much work you can get done in a small room".
