Arsenal defender Rob Holding has has said that confidence will be key in Arsenal turning around their faltering Premier League form.
A 2-0 loss against second place Leicester City in their last league outing put the Gunners in sixth position in the table and eight points off the top four places in the Premier League.
The loss also meant that Unai Emery's men have now gone four league games without picking up all three points, leading to calls from fans for the manager to lose his job at the Emirates Stadium.
However, with Emery still firmly in the hot seat, Arsenal have another chance to kick start their season when they host 19th placed Southampton on Saturday, with bottom placed Norwich City the following week.
Arsenal may see the games as an opportunity to pick up maximum points and Holding says that that could be just what the squad needs to turn around their season.
"We just need to string a couple of wins together and I think that will lift the confidence again and hopefully set us off on a run," he told Sky Sports News .
"We just need to stay calm and stay positive. We're sixth, we're not a million miles off it.
"We're going into a busy Christmas period now where there's going to be three Premier League games a week.
"We're eight points off the top four but if we have three wins in a week we're back up within touching distance so it's not crisis point by any stretch of the imagination. We need to keep calm, keep positive and keep working on what we need to improve on."
