Rob Holding offers insight into David Luiz-Dani Ceballos row in Arsenal training

Rob Holding insists David Luiz's training ground bust-up with Dani Ceballos was nothing more than a bit of healthy competition.

Reports emerged on Thursday that Luiz had left his teammate with a bloodied nose after clashing during a training match earlier in the week.

Both players were sent home, after Mikel Arteta had brought a halt to the session when Ceballos was left lying on the floor with a scratch on his face.

Arteta played down the incident though, taking more umbrage with the unknown perpetrator at the club who leaked details to the press.

And Holding has since echoed the words of his manager by suggesting there was little to the fracas.

"It’s just competitive training, that’s all we want it to be," Holding told Sky Sports . "We want it to be match-like, you’ve got to train as if it’s a match.

"You want to fight and compete for the ball. If it goes over [and] it can’t go over, it can’t go over, and it’s displaying something that’s not part of the game.

"Everything that happened was just competitive tackling and just a bit of competitiveness with the boys, which I think is not a problem at all."

Quizzed on whether the duo had made up, Holding replied: "Yeah, everyone’s friends again, everyone’s laughing and joking. It’s all good."

Arsenal will now look to put the episode behind them when they travel to Leeds on Sunday afternoon.

But for Arteta there is still an issue to attend to once their meeting at Elland Road is out the way as he goes in search of the mole within his camp.

“I don’t like the fact that that incident comes out at all,” he said in his press conference on Friday. “I will find out where it is coming from.

”That goes completely against what I expect from each other, the privacy and the confidentiality that we need, and there will be consequences.”
